Applications are invited for the 2016 HSRAANZ Best PhD Student Prize.  Prizes will be awared for the best Australian and best New Zealand PhD Student.


Applicants must be individual HSRAANZ Members, or nominated by an individual or corporate member.

Applicants must be enrolled as a PhD student at end July 2016.

Applicants must submit a short paper (no more than 5000 words) related to their PhD. The paper may be already published, accepted for publication or in preparation.

Papers may have multiple authors, but the applicant must be the first author and must declare their contribution to the paper.

The papers will be judged by an expert panel, selected by the HSRAANZ Executive Committee.

Papers must be submitted by 31 July 2016 in word for-mat.

The papers will be judged using the following criteria. (Maximum marks 20, each criterion of equal weight). Applicants will be judged on their demonstrated ability to:
 write clearly and concisely.
 present ideas and arguments logically
 use appropriate, sound methods; and
 show how their results are relevant to policy and/or practice.

The Awards will be made at an HSRAANZ event and AGM to be held in October/November.  Applicants may be invited to present their research at the event.
