The Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) will award up to $200,000 to support urgently needed research into the investigation, treatment and management of COVID-19. Eligible research projects may focus on initiatives that better investigate, diagnose, treat and manage COVID-19 patients with severe acute respiratory distress in the field of emergency healthcare, or that improve the safety of staff by reducing their risk of COVID-19 infection within the work environment.
The EMF is also accepting submissions that support community-based services such as pre-hospital and telehealth services as well as respiratory and fever clinics established in rural and remote environments to help ease pressure on hospital emergency departments.
Clinician-researchers interested in applying for the Special Funding Round COVID-19 can submit an Expression of Interest by 27 April at 5pm. Those shortlisted will then be asked to complete a full application by 5pm on 18 May.Read more
