A recent episode of Richard Adey's weekly Radio National program The Money looked at the Australia’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme: On Prescription: What the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme costs and how it could be better.
Professor Philip Clarke from our corporate member the Centre for Health Policy, the University of Melbourne was interviewed on the history of the scheme, some of its failings and options for reforms. The program also included a discussion of approach adopted in New Zealand of using an entirely autonomous authority PHARMAC that manages a fixed budget.

The program can listened to online.
