This Award which will be presented biennially will recognise an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of health services research in Australia or New Zealand. The Association is keen to recognise those who as well as conducting their own research have fostered others through activities such as mentoring or creating a supportive research environment. This year’s Award will be presented at the 7^th Health Services and Policy Research Conference Dinner on Tuesday, 6^th December 2011.

The Purpose of this Award is to:

Identify and acknowledge individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of health services research in Australia or New Zealand

Profile the work of the individual

Inspire others to follow the example

Criteria for Selection—The award will be offered to an individual who has:

Initiated a strong research agenda

Made an ongoing contribution to the profession of health services research over many years

Mentored other researchers

Contributed to a supportive research environment.
