Following the success of two one-day workshops in Sydney on 9 and 10 March 2017, the Australian Health Services Research Institute is conducting two more workshops on Friday 2 June 2017:
Professor Kathy Eagar (Director, Australian Health Services Research Institute), Associate Professor Jan Sansoni (Director, Australian Health Outcomes Collaboration), Ms Frances Simmonds (Director, Australasian Rehabilitation Outcomes Centre) and Dr Kate Williams (Research Fellow, Centre for Health Service Development), experts in the field of health outcomes, will provide an overview of the current Australian and international focus on health outcomes and the different types of measures and indicators used in health outcomes evaluation. Health outcomes will be discussed in relation to population health, evidence based health care, quality improvement, outcome benchmarking and ‘value-based’ health care activities undertaken by organisations. The use of patient-reported outcome and experience measures and standardised outcome measurement suites will be reviewed within the context of quality improvement and health service evaluation.
