The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) recently announced changes to the Te Pūnaha Hihiko: Vision Mātauranga Capability Fund round.
The key changes in this year’s round are:
- maximum funding per project is now $250,000 (GST exclusive) for both the Connect and Placement Schemes
- the co-funding requirement is reduced to 10% of the MBIE funding amount, and is not required to come from a certain partner.
This year’s round of Te Pūnaha Hihiko: Vision Mātauranga Capability Fund will open on 9 September 2020 and close at 12 noon, 11 November 2020.
Up to $4 million in funding is available in the 2020 funding round for research projects of up to 24 months.
The Te Pūnaha Hihiko: Vision Mātauranga Capability Fund aims to strengthen capability, capacity, skills and networks between Māori and the science and innovation system, and increase understanding of how research can contribute to the aspirations of Māori organisations and deliver benefit for Aotearoa.
