The Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE) is part of the UTS Business School and is recognised nationally and internationally as a Centre of excellence in health economics. Our areas of expertise include economic evaluation and health technology assessment, applied econometrics, discrete choice experiments, health outcome measurement and policy evaluation.
About the role
CHERE is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to contribute to its program of health economics and health services research.
You will report to the Deputy Director and leader of the policy evaluation program. A substantive part of this role is related to the Healthy Homes Project and will include the research management of this randomised trial, as well as methodological development, design, conduct, analysis and interpretation of health economic aspects of randomised controlled trials and other types of health economics research.
You will have previous experience in heath economics or health services research including experience in conducting trials and analysing trial data. You are adept at collaborating with a range of stakeholders and also working independently.
To be successful in applying for this role, you will also have:
- High-level skills in development of research projects in health economics
- High-level planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and set and meet deadlines.
- Experience in research project management and ethics applications
- Proven ability to publish in high quality journals or high quality reports and to contribute to obtaining external research grants
- Demonstrated capacity to use a range of software packages; e.g.: Excel, Stata/SPSS (or similar), MS Office, End Note, NVivo, Qualtrics
- A post-graduate degree in economics, health economics, health services research, statistics, public health, epidemiology, pharmacy or equivalent

Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $103,981 to $123,067 pa (Level B). This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
