PhD Scholarship in Health Sector Performance Research
COMPASS – Centre of Methods and Policy Application in the Social Sciences
Applications are invited for a three year PhD. scholarship working with a team headed by Professor Peter Davis on a project whose principal aim is to assess the performance of the hospital sector. The project is funded by the Health Research Council of New Zealand and copies of the proposal are available for review on request.
This PhD Scholarship is for a three year period of full-time study at The University of Auckland. The stipend is $25,000 per year plus tuition fees. In addition a $500 allowance is payable to contribute to thesis binding costs.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow / Senior Research Officer (2 positions) AND Research Support Officer - Adelaide Health Technology Assessment (AHTA), Discipline of Public Health, School of Population Health and Clinical Practice, the University of Adelaide
An exciting opportunity exists for three new staff to join a multi-disciplinary team of Chief and Associate Investigators to work on an innovative three-year NHMRC Project Grant in Health Services Research, recently awarded to a team from the University of Adelaide. The project aims to examine potentially ineffective health care practices through a multi-disciplinary, mixed-methods lens of enquiry (clinical, epidemiologic, economic, ethical and policy). The researchers will consult with a diverse group of stakeholders from clinical, policy, patient and community groups to build a model for refining how resources are allocated in the face of clinical ineffectiveness or inappropriate application.
