Following a successful collaboration at the 9th Health Services and Policy Research Conference we are pleased to welcome the HCF Research Foundation as a corporate member. The HCF Research Foundation was established 15 years ago to fund health and medical research for the benefit of all Australians. Since its inception, the Foundation has committed more than $14 million to universities, research institutes and hospitals across the country. That initial ethos has now evolved to an absolute focus on health services research. Investment so far has ranged from decision aids to help families of children with diabetes, rehabilitation options for those undergoing knee replacement, reducing unnecessary tests in hospitals, technology assessment to help consumers manage obesity, and programs to assist carers of dementia patients, to name but a few. The Foundation is committed to increasing the capacity of health services research in Australia and helping with the translation of findings into practical outcomes.
