The New Zealand Health Research Council has issued the following statement - "Due to the new restrictions/lockdown now in force in New Zealand and Australia, and the rapidly evolving COVID-19 outbreak, we have decided to cancel all HRC science assessing committee meetings for the current funding rounds.
We understand that the present situation is difficult for everyone, and we will continue as best we can working remotely to ensure high quality research proposals are funded. Please keep an eye out for a Special Update next week which will explain how we intend to proceed with the assessment process for these funding rounds. You can also check out the 'COVID-19 updates for researchers' page on our website, which we are frequently updating with the latest news. This page includes answers to commonly asked questions such as: Are application deadlines being extended for current funding rounds? Can I get an extension or suspension to my existing research contract? I have just submitted an application to the HRC, but realise now that my research plans may be disrupted by COVID-19. What should I do?
