Applications are now being sought for the 2009 B-HERT Awards for - Outstanding Achievement in Research & Development, Higher Education & Training, Vocational Education & Training, and Community Engagement. Closing date for entries is 2 September 2009.

Number and categories of Awards -

Best Research & Development Collaboration
Best Higher Education & Training Collaboration
Best Vocational Education & Training Collaboration
Best Collaboration with a Regional Focus - R&D or E&T
Best Community Engagement Collaboration
You will note a new VET Award has been introduced for the first time this year - Best Vocational Education & Training Collaboration.

These Awards recognise outstanding achievements in collaboration between business and tertiary education. The objective is to highlight at a national level the benefits of such collaboration, and by so doing to enhance the links between business and tertiary education. Awards will be made for projects or programs which have produced new products or services. Criteria for assessment will include innovation, strength of relationship between the partners, national benefits, whether the project or program has attracted new participants, and cultural impact.



In addition -

Award for Best Entrepreneurial Educator of the Year
Award for Outstanding Philanthropic Support of Higher Education.
The Hon Julia Gillard MP, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations has kindly once again accepted our invitation to present this year's Awards at a Dinner on Thursday, 5 November in Melbourne. She will also deliver the after-dinner address.

Closing date for entries is 2 September 2009.


These Awards are a highly respected annual recognition of outstanding achievement in an area of activity vital to the future of this nation.
