This draft report was released on 3 November 2016. Written submissions are due by Monday 12 December 2016.

The final report is expected to be handed to the Australian Government in March 2017.

Public Hearings

The Productivity Commission is recommending a major overhaul of Australia’s data policy framework in the draft report for its inquiry into Data Availability and Use. Public hearings are being held to get feedback from the community, businesses, organisations and academics on key draft recommendations.

Please note: The morning session in each location is dedicate to receiving feedback on the recommended Comprehensive Right for consumers or on the designation of National Interest Datasets (as detailed in the draft report). The afternoon sessions are available for more general comments.
