    It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the  Health Services and Policy Research Conference in Auckland, New Zealand, 4 to 6 December, 2019. The Conference will be held at the  Pullman Hotel Auckland, located in the heart of the city, just minutes from iconic Viaduct Harbour and a short stroll from the waterfront dining and entertainment precinct.

     

    Accommodation  has been reserved for Conference delegates at the Pullman Auckland (Conference venue).  There are special Conference rates (valid until 3 November 2019) for stays 3 - 6 December 2019 but it will fill fast!

     

    Program

     

    This year’s invited speakers and panellists include;

     

    • Dr. Carrie Bourassa - IIPH Scientific Director, College of Medicine, Department of Community Health &Epidemiology, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Canada
    • Professor Richard Cookson - Centre for Health Economics, University of York, UK
    • Dame Tariana Turia DNZM, New Zealand
    • Professor Peter Crampton -  Dean, Otago Medical School, University of Otago, New Zealand
    • Debbie Ryan - Principal, Pacific Perspectives

     

    In addition there will be a special session sponsored by the HCF Research Foundation -  Reducing unnecessary hospital admissions and complications.

     

    Twenty eight  featured symposia will be scheduled in special sessions of the conference program with a small number of parallel symposiums in each session.  You can view all symposia and abstracts here.

     

    Two Pre-conference Workshops will be held the University of Auckland Tuesday 3 December, 2019 for anyone who is interested in taking advantage of all the excellent learning opportunities available at HSRAANZ 2019.

     

    • Indigenous Pre-Conference Hui (Workshop) facilitated by Dr Rachel Brown, and
    • Achieving impact through research: An introduction to implementation science - Professor Gill Harvey, Adelaide Nursing School, University of Adelaide, Australia and Professor Tim Stokes, Department of General Practice and Rural Health, University of Otago, New Zealand

     

    It is expected that full program schedule will be available in late August/early September.

     

    Call for abstracts

     

    If you have not submitted an abstract, there is still an opportunity, with the deadline extended until Friday 19 July, 2019. We are particularly keen to encourage  entries in this year’s 3 minute thesis competition for Early Career Researchers. The competition is open to higher degree research students, or Early Career Researchers who have completed a higher degree by research within the last 2 years.  Read more here.
