Dr Solmaz Nazari Orakani – NZ ERGO Representative

Solmaz Nazari Orakani is a post doctoral research fellow in the School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Practice. She has lived experience of disability and is a disability researcher. She was awarded a Health Research Grant from the Lottery Board in New Zealand to explore the experiences of disabled people in accessing healthcare and disability services during COVID-19. Solmaz has worked in the disability sector of more than ten years and is currently working at the Ministry of Disabled People in New Zealand. Solmaz has been an EMCR member of the HSRAANZ Executive Committee for the past two years, has brought various insights about health services research in the New Zealand context, and has contributed to the vision and objectives of HSRAANZ.
