Within the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health there is an active health economics unit (HEU) as part of the multi-disciplinary Centre for Health Policy.
The HEU was the successful recipient of a Medical Research Future Fund grant in June 2020. This grant provides $2.3m over three years to conduct the multi-institutional QUOKKA Research Programme. ‘QUOKKA’ stands for ‘QUality Of Life in Kids: Key evidence to strengthen decisions in Australia’. The aims of the research program, comprising six studies, is to strengthen tools and evidence on health outcomes in paediatric populations for use in decision making. Research outputs will support robust decision making about value for money of child health care in Australia, at Commonwealth and State levels, and by healthcare providers and consumers wanting to better understand the effectiveness of treatment options.
An exciting academic opportunity exists for an experienced Research Program Manager to join the ‘QUOKKA Research Programme’ team. This position involves managing all aspects of the research, including leading internal and external research engagement activities in relation to research implementation and dissemination.
