Project Description

NSW Regional Health Partners

NSW Regional Health Partners (NSWRHP) is a Centre for Innovation in Regional Health accredited by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in 2017. The Centre is supported by eight strategically aligned partners who have a long history of working together to deliver successful programs including three regional local health districts, a private-public healthcare organisation, a primary health network, a medical research institute, and two regional universities. The Centre’s purpose is to bridge the gap between what medical research tells us and what happens to people in the health system in rural and regional Australia. There are approximately 1.5 million people, including 10% of Australia’s Aboriginal population in NSWRHP’s footprint. The Centre supports this population by developing and nurturing strong and genuine partnerships between the academic and healthcare sectors in our region to enable a shared focus on the major healthcare issues facing our communities. Funding is received from our partners, the NSW Office of Health and Medical Research (OHMR) and the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF)
